The main purpose of preparing the cake pan is to allow the cake to be un-molded from it without tearing or sticking. You don’t want all your hard work to go waste just because the pan was not prepared well.
Cut a wax paper of the size of the cake pan’s base.
Grease the pan lightly and put the cut wax paper over the base of the pan. It is the base where the cake may stick when trying to get it out. Sides usually release easily. Apply the grease lightly on the center of this wax paper and the pan is ready to be used.
The method of preparing Bundt Pans is without using the wax paper. They require being greased and floured. Grease the bundt pan with your choice of fat generously, sprinkle flour all over the greased surface. Now turn the pan upside down on your counter and tap it to get all the excess of flour out. The pan is now ready to be used.
