I am a food lover – love everything about food!!!! As I love to travel tooo hence I am always exploring cuisines from different parts of the world and India. There is soo much to learn, unlearn and relearn…food makes me feel like a global citizen.
Somewhere this beautiful friendship with food has transformed me into a new and better me. When I bake or cook I want to pour all my love into the dough and want to share it with whoever I can. No one goes from my kitchen without a bite of teacake or fresh bread rolls. Just seeing people relish and enjoy food satiates me. Cooking has melted all the boundaries of the world. Places that I cannot visit come alive. In trying to make delicacies from the kitchen of the world I feel a part of these cultures. I can relate with people from the Mediterranean, Mozambique, Brazil, Italy – I feel one with them, having tried their food and knowing what goes into making it. Food is a personal and intricate part of any culture. Through it one can get to the core of a country’s heart and history.
During my travels and conversations I realized that some countries are still cooking in ancient ways. They are lucky to have their heritage still around in its original form because traditional recipes are gradually disappearing. And I have seen this happening in my short life span. What my grandmother cooked for us, as kids, are already forgotten recipes though so simple. In this blog you will find recipes from my great grandmothers, friends, my relatives, world recipes and me. The idea is that let every one find their home cooked food wherever they are. A gift from me to you!And one just keeps falling in love with every cuisine, as each is so unique and beautiful and yet so familiar. What is chapatti in India is pita in the Mediterranean, pizza in Italy and bread for most parts of the world. The world is one hell of a kitchen!!! Full of possibilities to learn and grow.
